Camera Labs [Tested on Nikon variant]
It is an excellent lens [..] surpassing the image quality of Zeiss’s own 85mm f1.4 Otus which is no small feat. It can be confidently used even at f1.4 with little to no compromise in optical performance. It may lack autofocus and image stabilization [...], but that is of less concern when used on a modern mirrorless body. Its build quality is unsurpassed. [...] Highly Recommended, albeit with the caveats mentioned [...] and of course price
Dustin Abbott [Tested on 30 MP camera] I liked the Otus 100mm until I used it for a portrait session; then I loved it. Are the Otus lenses for everyone? Obviously not. Not everyone wants to deal with manual focus. Few people are interested in spending $5000 on a medium telephoto prime. It’s an extreme instrument which takes a more careful, deliberate approach to using. But it also produces incredibly special images (especially portraits).
