Nikon has updated the 70-200 f2.8 VR (vibration reduction) lens with version II - the full name is Nikkor AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II.

Current model "AF-S Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8G IF-ED" (lens names are very long nowadays) was introduced back in 2003. Some criticism on this high-end optics was raised for not crispy corners and now version II should respond to this request with a brand new design, including... 7 ED elements -extra low dispersion- (there were already five of them in previous model).

Also vibration reduction mechanism has been updated and Nikon claims up to 4 stops of effect (like Canon newest IS models....).
